THE ROLE OF PPMI ASSALAAM CAREGIVERS IN EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION OF THE NEW SANTRWIATI ADAPTATION PROCESS

Abstract

This research intends to investigate the role of caregivers at the Assalaam Islamic boarding school in communicating the adaptation process of new female students. Adaptation is an important process for new female students in facing their new boarding school environment. It is hoped that effective communication from caregivers can help the adaptation process. This research combines case study methodology with a qualitative approach. The methods used to obtain data were document analysis, in-depth interviews, and observation. The research informants consisted of boarding school caregivers, new female students, and senior female students. The research results show that caregivers play an important role in the adaptation process of new female students, one of which is through effective communication. With good communication, caregivers can help new female students overcome the problems they face during the adaptation process. Effective forms of communication used by caregivers include a personal approach, conveying clear information, as well as providing ongoing motivation and guidance. The findings of this research provide an illustration of the importance of effective communication from caregivers in facilitating the adaptation process of new female students in the Islamic boarding school environment.
